Young Thug Apologizes to GloRilla After Leaked Jail Call Diss

Young Thug is trying to make things right after a leaked jail phone call sparked major controversy.
Earlier this week, audio surfaced of the rapper speaking to his girlfriend, singer Mariah the Scientist, where he harshly insulted fellow rapper GloRilla. In the call, Thug compared her to Rihanna but dismissed the idea, saying, “That b— ugly as f—… I would not pursue her, like at all.”
The clip quickly spread online, with fans slamming him for tearing down another artist.
On Thursday (Sept. 4), Thug, who remains behind bars amid his ongoing YSL RICO case, took to X (formerly Twitter) to publicly apologize. “First of all I’m sorry to u for my words and I honestly don’t think ur ugly at all, I was speaking from jail just having a hard time with life,” he wrote. “I don’t like bashing girls and hardly ever did.. I’m sorry to u twin.”

The apology seemed to land well with fans, many of whom gave him credit for taking responsibility. “Finally a good tweet, this is a step in the right direction,” one person replied. Another added, “Accountability ✅ they don’t know the struggle of sitting in that box alone.”
GloRilla, however, didn’t stay silent. While she didn’t name Thug directly, she appeared to fire back with a subtle tweet: “Mind you dis da same n—a blowing my phone up to ask what color my eyes is lmaooo.” Fans quickly connected the dots, assuming her message was aimed at him.

This isn’t the first time a jail call involving Thug has leaked during his legal battle. Over the past two years, snippets of conversations have made the rounds online, including one where he allegedly admitted to buying $50,000 worth of streams to boost Gunna’s DS4EVER over The Weeknd’s Dawn FM on the Billboard 200.
For now, Thug’s apology has shifted the conversation—though fans are still buzzing about the messy exchange.
