Netflix renews hit series “Wednesday” for Season 3 ahead of Season 2’s August debut.

Netflix’s hit supernatural comedy Wednesday has officially been renewed for a third season—even before its highly anticipated second season debuts.
The fan-favorite series, starring Jenna Ortega as the delightfully dark and witty Wednesday Addams, continues to dominate as Netflix’s most popular English-language show ever.
The show first premiered in 2022 and became an instant cultural phenomenon. Ortega’s portrayal of Wednesday, who’s expelled from her school after unleashing piranhas in the swimming pool, quickly won over viewers. She’s then sent to Nevermore Academy, a private school for outcasts, where she navigates a world of supernatural secrets and deadly mysteries.
Season 1’s breakout success helped the show pick up four Emmy Awards and solidify its place in pop culture.
Now, with Season 2 set to roll out in two parts—on August 6 and September 3—fans can look forward to even more creepy chaos. In the upcoming season, Wednesday returns to Nevermore and must face off against a new threat in order to save her werewolf roommate and best friend, Enid.
The cast remains stacked with talent. Alongside Ortega, the ensemble includes Gwendoline Christie as the shapeshifting principal, Emma Myers as Enid, and Riki Lindhome as the school therapist.
Season 2 and 3 will also feature returning cast members like Christina Ricci, Steve Buscemi, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Billie Piper.
Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and based on the classic Charles Addams characters, Wednesday also has a powerhouse production team. Tim Burton is among the executive producers, along with Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, and Gail Berman. Music is composed by the legendary Danny Elfman and Chris Bacon.
As Netflix continues investing in dark comedies with a teen twist, Wednesday leads the way with style, sass, and just the right amount of spooky.
With a third season now confirmed, it’s clear the Addams legacy is far from fading.
