Taylor Swift might be teasing her next re-recorded album, Reputation (Taylor’s Version), through her wardrobe choices. On October 12, Swift stepped out for a date night with NFL star Travis Kelce in New York City, and her outfit has fans buzzing with excitement over possible Easter eggs related to the 2017 album.

For the night out, Swift wore a gold velvet corset and mini skirt, accessorizing with a Roberto Cavalli shoulder bag. The bag stood out with its intertwined “R” and “C” monogram surrounded by snake motifs, which fans believe is a nod to the snake imagery used throughout Swift’s original Reputation era.

She completed the look with Versace Medusa Buckle platform mules, further hinting at the album, as the Medusa logo recalls the snake-head figure tied to Swift’s past themes.

Swift’s choice of accessories didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who took to social media to discuss the possible clues. On TikTok, one fan wrote, “The bag,” referencing the snake symbol that became an iconic part of her Reputation branding.

Another fan commented, “She’s messing with us,” while others expressed impatience for the re-release, with one saying, “I can’t do this anymore, I need Reputation.”

Some fans also noted that the outfit’s black-and-gold color palette was a subtle callback to the Reputation era, adding to the speculation. “Black and gold was also prominent during the Rep era!!!” one user observed in response to a breakdown of her outfit posted on social media.

Swift has been dropping hints about Reputation (Taylor’s Version) for months. During her Eras Tour concert in London on August 17, Swift waved goodbye with a snake-like motion as she left the stage, which fans took as a playful Easter egg.

At the same show, she performed “I Did Something Bad,” a song from Reputation, further fueling rumors of the re-recorded album’s impending release.

Interestingly, Swift’s London shows also introduced a new outfit from designer Zuhair Murad during the Midnights segment.

Some fans noted that this move mirrored her strategy of wearing a new outfit the day before announcing 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which was officially revealed shortly after her U.S. tour dates.

In a 2023 interview with TIME magazine, Swift confirmed that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) is on its way, describing the album as “a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure.”
