Taylor Swift has confirmed that her forthcoming album The Life of a Showgirl will contain exactly 12 tracks — and fans shouldn’t expect any bonus songs or deluxe editions.

Speaking on the Aug. 13 episode of the New Heights Podcast with boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce, the pop superstar revealed that the record, due Oct. 3, is the project she’s “been wanting to make for a very long time.”

Swift described Showgirl as a “deep dive” into her personal life during The Eras Tour, which has spanned more than two years.

All 12 songs were written while she was on the road, with Swift flying to Sweden during breaks to work exclusively with her longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback. “We’ve never actually made an album before where it was just the three of us,” she said. “It felt like catching lightning in a bottle. These guys, they’re just geniuses.”

The 14-time Grammy winner called the collection “a lot more upbeat” and filled with “fun pop excitement,” featuring melodies that are “so infectious, you’re almost angry at it.”

Swift confirmed that every track is a “banger” in the style of her chart-topping hits with Martin and Shellback, including “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space.”

Lyrically, the songs will chronicle pivotal behind-the-scenes moments from her tour, from her breakup with longtime partner Joe Alwyn to the start of her relationship with Kelce.

She also revealed one of the album’s standout moments — a duet with Sabrina Carpenter on the title track.

Swift was emphatic about the album’s finality: “There’s no other songs coming. This is 12. There’s not a 13th … this is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time.” She added that she cares about this project “more than I can even overstate,” expressing pride in its “crisp” and “vivid” lyrics.

With no extended versions planned, The Life of a Showgirl promises to be a tightly curated, high-energy pop statement that captures a transformative period in Swift’s career and personal life — one she’s eager for fans to experience exactly as intended.
