This weekend, something special happened! “Saturday Night Live” (SNL), the famous comedy show, celebrated its 50th birthday with a big concert. Many stars came to perform, but one of the most exciting moments was when Bill Murray brought back his old, funny character, Nick the Lounge Singer.

Nick the Lounge Singer is a funny character Bill Murray played on SNL a long time ago, in the 1970s. He sings famous songs in a silly way, just like a lounge singer in a fancy hotel. One of his most famous moments was when he sang the Star Wars theme song with funny words!

At the concert, Bill Murray introduced himself as Nick Valentine (a little joke because the event happened on Valentine’s Day!). He made a funny speech, saying, “The day is not named after me!”

Then, with his old friend Paul Shaffer playing the piano, Bill Murray sang again as Nick the Lounge Singer. After a while, three talented SNL stars—Maya Rudolph, Cecily Strong, and Ana Gasteyer—joined him as backup singers. They all sang the classic song You’re All I Need to Get By by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

The SNL 50th Anniversary Concert had so many famous singers! Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus, and Post Malone performed, along with the Backstreet Boys, Eddie Vedder, Snoop Dogg, Cher, and many more. It was a huge celebration of music and comedy!
