SNL Skit Pokes Fun at Trump’s Cabinet Picks and Popular Podcasts

A recent episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL) made fun of Donald Trump’s cabinet picks and popular podcasts like Joe Rogan’s. The show was hosted by singer Charli XCX. In one sketch, they created a fake podcast called “Banger Boyz.” It featured SNL cast members Marcello Hernández, Andrew Dismukes, and Emil Wakim as the hosts.

The sketch begins with the hosts saying that Donald Trump has been elected president again. They joke that his visit to their podcast helped him win. While they are recording, Hernández’s character gets a surprise call from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. He finds out that Trump wants him to be the new Secretary of Commerce, a top government job.

Wakim’s character is confused and asks, “What even is that?” Dismukes replies, “I think it means he’s in charge of all the commercials.” Hernández gets excited and jokes that his first job would be to fire the GEICO gecko, calling it the “little GEICO Snake.”

Later, Wakim’s character also gets a call from Trump. This time, Trump offers him a job as the ambassador to Iran. Wakim is unsure and says, “I don’t know if I want to do that.”

Charli XCX joins in by announcing fake ads during the podcast. She pretends to promote silly products like “Cargo Condoms,” which are condoms with pockets, and “Zen Junior,” nicotine pouches for kids with cherry flavor. These funny ads add to the joke, making fun of the strange things you might hear in real podcast ads.
