Sean “Diddy” Combs, a well-known rapper and music producer, will remain in jail until his trial in May 2025. Court documents show that he chose to withdraw his latest request to be released on bail.
Bail Requests Denied
Combs has tried several times to get out of jail on bail since his arrest on September 16, 2024, at a Manhattan hotel. His first request was denied the very next day, and a second request was denied on September 18. Judges said they were worried he might try to interfere with witnesses.
His third request for bail was denied on November 27. The judge in that hearing, Arun Subramanian, said Combs was too dangerous to be let out and noted how serious the crimes he is charged with are.
After giving up on his latest appeal for bail, Combs will now stay in jail until his trial begins on May 5, 2025.

Serious Allegations
Combs is facing very serious charges. Prosecutors accuse him of leading a “criminal enterprise,” which means running a group that committed crimes to help him. These crimes include sex trafficking, forcing others into prostitution, and making threats to control people.
The charges also say that Combs used violence and fear to hurt others and protect his reputation. He is accused of other crimes like bribery, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and even arson.
Hundreds of Accusations
Attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents several of Combs’ alleged victims, says there could be around 300 cases against the rapper. Buzbee says his team received about 3,000 phone calls after asking people to come forward if they had been hurt by Combs.
The lawyer expects the final number of cases to be closer to 100 or 150. So far, his team has filed 20 lawsuits on behalf of both men and women. These accusations reportedly date back over 20 years.
Combs’ Defense
Combs’ legal team has denied all the accusations. They claim that the lawsuits are meant to pressure celebrities like Combs into paying settlements, even if the accusations are false.
Trial Scheduled for May
Combs will remain in jail until his trial begins on May 5, 2025. Many people will be watching the case closely as more evidence and details are revealed in court.
