Rod Stewart, a famous British singer who is 79 years old, is giving up his collection of sports cars. On November 14, he shared the news on Instagram. He said that he would sell his Italian sports cars, like Ferraris and Lamborghinis, because the roads near his home have too many potholes.
Stewart posted a photo of himself standing next to his colorful cars. He called them “beautiful works of art” and said he felt lucky to own them. He has loved driving these cars since the 1970s. But now, he feels he has no choice but to sell them because the roads are so rough.
In his post, he thanked his fans, saying they were the reason he could buy such amazing cars. He ended the message by telling online critics that he does not read negative comments.
This is not the first time Stewart has talked about bad roads. In March 2022, he got so fed up with the potholes near his home in Essex, England, that he decided to fix them himself. He shared videos on Instagram showing him filling the holes with gravel. He wore a construction vest over an Adidas tracksuit as he worked with a small team.
In one video, Stewart said, “I’m repairing the street where I live because no one else is doing it.” He also said that the road was so bad that an ambulance had a flat tire. He joked that his Ferrari could not drive on the road at all, so he decided to help fix it.
Recently, there were rumors about problems in Rod Stewart’s marriage to his wife, Penny Lancaster. They have been married since 2007. In August, Stewart posted a message on Instagram to stop the rumors. He said there was no trouble between him and Penny.
Stewart explained that they moved back to the UK permanently but still love visiting their other homes. This includes a house in Los Angeles. Some people said they were arguing about selling their LA home. But Stewart said they decided to keep it after spending a fun summer there with family during his concerts in Las Vegas.
He ended his message by saying he and Penny are still very much in love after 27 years together. He signed off as “Rod ‘a very lucky man’ Stewart.”
