Team Roc, the social justice group of Roc Nation, has created a new podcast called “Corruption Uncovered.” This true crime podcast will talk about problems and unfair actions in the criminal justice system, starting with the Kansas City, Kansas police department (KCKPD). The first episode will be released on December 6.

The podcast will focus on serious accusations against Roger Golubski, a former detective with the KCKPD. He is facing federal charges for using his position to harm and take advantage of Black women and teenagers. His trial is part of a larger investigation into the police department’s history of wrongdoing and its effects on the community.

Team Roc has also filed a lawsuit against the KCKPD. They claim the department has refused to share important records about decades of police misconduct.

The podcast will share stories from people affected by the corruption, including survivors, families, community members, and activists. It will help listeners understand how these actions hurt people and what needs to change.

“There are many people who haven’t had the chance to share their stories,” said Dania Diaz, managing director of Team Roc. “We want this podcast to help their voices be heard, expose the truth, and push for fairness and accountability.”

The podcast is hosted by Josie Duffy Rice, a journalist who writes about prisons and the justice system. Her work has appeared in major publications like The New York Times and The Atlantic. “Corruption Uncovered” is being made by Team Roc and Pineapple Street Studios, with a team of experienced producers.

Through this series, Team Roc hopes to bring attention to police misconduct and inspire changes that will make the justice system fairer for everyone.
