Prince William is set to return to public duties in early September after spending the summer break with his wife, Kate Middleton, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Kensington Palace announced that the Prince of Wales will visit the “Homelessness: Reframed” exhibit at the Saatchi Gallery in London on September 5.

The exhibit, which opened on August 7 and will run until September 20, highlights the complexities of homelessness across the U.K. and offers insights into the stories of those affected.

It is a collaboration between Prince William’s Homewards initiative, the Saatchi Gallery, and the Eleven Eleven Foundation. Homewards, launched by the Prince in June 2023 with the Royal Foundation, aims to end homelessness for good.

During his visit, Prince William will meet with artists featured in the exhibit and individuals whose experiences have inspired some of the artwork.

He will also speak with British photographer Rankin, who contributed to the exhibit, and engage with children from the Creative Kids charity, who participated in workshops for the “Open Doors” section of the exhibit.

This section showcases doors created by children from six key locations across the U.K. where Homewards is actively working to make homelessness rare and non-recurrent.

This will be Prince William’s first public engagement since he attended the UEFA European Championship soccer final in Berlin, Germany, with Prince George on July 14.

As President of the Football Association, the visit was both a professional duty and a chance to enjoy the sport he loves.

The British royal family traditionally takes a break from public engagements from mid-July to early September to rest and recharge.

King Charles is currently continuing the late Queen Elizabeth’s tradition of spending this time at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, a place that has long served as a gathering spot for the wider royal family.

This summer, the royal family is also focusing on health and recovery. Princess Kate has been undergoing treatment for cancer, which she announced in March.

Despite a few public appearances, including Trooping the Colour in June and Wimbledon in July, Princess Kate has been focusing on her health, with no set date for her return to regular public life.

Earlier this month, Prince William and Princess Kate shared a video message to congratulate Team Great Britain on their success at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In the clip, Prince William, sporting a new beard, and Princess Kate praised the athletes, saying they had been an inspiration to everyone watching at home.
