Prince George, 11, is really into football (or soccer, as it’s known in the U.S.), and his favorite team is Aston Villa, according to his uncle Mike Tindall.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Tindall, a former rugby player who’s married to Zara Tindall, Princess Anne’s daughter, talked about George’s growing passion for the sport.

“George loves his football. I’ve played with him lots of times in the garden,” said Tindall, 45. “He’s also passionate about Aston Villa. No matter where he is, he’ll sit down and watch their games.”

Football is a big deal in the royal family. George’s dad, Prince William, has been a dedicated Aston Villa supporter for years and passed on his love for the team to his son.

Prince William took George to his first football match in 2019 when Aston Villa played against Norwich City. Since then, the father-son duo have attended more games, including one in April 2023 where they watched Aston Villa face Nottingham Forest at Villa Park.

Earlier this year, Prince William mentioned how much George enjoys watching his favorite team. The two were even spotted at the FA Cup final in May 2023 at Wembley Stadium, watching Manchester City take on Manchester United.

Uncle Mike also said the whole family is really into sports. “They’re just a family who love sport,” he said. George’s mom, Kate Middleton, is also a runner, according to Tindall.

Football isn’t the only activity George loves. According to Prince William, his son has recently started scuba diving. Prince William shared with Hello! magazine that George is already comfortable in the water. “George loves scuba diving.

He’s 11 years old, and we thought he might be scared at first, but he absolutely loves it. It’s a great way to introduce him to the underwater world,” said the Prince of Wales.

While football remains George’s biggest passion, his interest in other activities like scuba diving shows how he’s exploring new hobbies as he gets older.
