Nicole Eggert, known for her role as Summer Quinn on Baywatch, is staying positive as she battles stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer.

Diagnosed in December 2023, Eggert has been taking life one day at a time while working on her latest project, After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun. The four-part docuseries, premiering August 28 on Hulu, revisits the cast of the iconic ’90s TV show and reflects on their experiences.

Eggert, who helped produce the docuseries, shares that working on the project over the past five years has been cathartic, especially during her health challenges. “Having this project has been a great motivation for me,” Eggert says. “It’s giving me purpose and keeping me driven every day.”

The actress, who is a mother to two daughters, 13-year-old Keegan and 25-year-old Dilyn, says her children have also been a significant source of strength. “I have a 12-year-old at home where I’m the only caregiver.

I have no family. I have nothing,” Eggert says, reflecting on the impact of her diagnosis on her younger daughter. “It immediately made me realize, there’s just no succumbing to this.”

In July, Eggert shared a positive update on Instagram, revealing that her body had fully responded to chemotherapy, with no detectable cancer remaining. She is now preparing for a mastectomy and reconstruction surgery.

Eggert joined Baywatch in 1992 at just 18 years old, staying on the show for two seasons. Despite leaving the series at a young age, she has no regrets. “Running away from things does not make them disappear,” she says. “But I also don’t have any regrets at the same time. I don’t believe in them.”

After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun offers a deeper look into the lives of the show’s cast and crew, highlighting the challenges and triumphs behind the scenes of the global phenomenon.

The series premieres on Hulu on August 28.
