Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett are teaming up in an exciting new movie called Black Bag. This spy drama, directed by Steven Soderbergh, tells the story of two famous intelligence agents, George and Kathryn Woodhouse, who are also husband and wife.
The movie’s trailer, released on December 17, gives a glimpse of the suspenseful story. In Black Bag, George’s love for Kathryn is tested when she is accused of betraying their country. George must decide whether to stay loyal to his wife or to the nation they serve.
In the trailer, George promises Kathryn, “I would do anything for you.” Kathryn challenges him by asking, “Would you kill for me, George? Would you?” These questions show the intense emotional struggles the couple will face. At one point, Kathryn even says, “My devotion to my marriage is my professional weakness,” hinting at how hard it is to balance their work as spies with their personal relationship.
The movie has a star-studded cast that includes Pierce Brosnan, Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Tom Burke, and Naomie Harris. The script was written by David Koepp, who also wrote Jurassic Park.
Black Bag is not the only project Soderbergh and Koepp are working on. They have another movie called Presence coming out soon. Presence is about a family who moves into a new house and starts to believe they are not alone. That movie stars Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan, and Julia Fox, and it will be in theaters on January 24.
Fans of spy stories and thrillers can look forward to seeing Black Bag in theaters on March 14.
