Mary Cosby speaks out about her son Robert Jr.’s struggles following his latest arrest.

Mary Cosby, one of the standout stars of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, is facing a painful family crisis.
Her 21-year-old son, Robert Cosby Jr., was arrested on Saturday, Sept. 6, outside of Salt Lake City, following a domestic violence report, TMZ first reported.
According to police records, Robert Jr. allegedly attempted to climb through a dog door to break into his father-in-law’s home. Once outside on the front lawn, he reportedly assaulted someone before officers arrived on the scene. Authorities claim he initially ignored their orders to get on the ground, though he eventually complied and was taken into custody.
Robert Jr. now faces multiple charges, including criminal trespassing, assault, failure to stop at the command of law enforcement, and three counts of violating a court order. He was booked and held on a $10,000 bond. As of now, he has not been released.
The arrest comes just days after Mary, 52, opened up about her son’s struggles during an interview with Dorinda Medley on her Sirius XM show Reality Checked. The Bravo star shared that Robert Jr. has been battling issues related to sobriety and personal choices.
“He’s doing as good as he can,” Mary explained. “It’s his journey. I can’t make his mind up for him. I can only push him, encourage him and love him.” She described the process as a “hardcore road” and admitted it has been heartbreaking to watch as a mother.
Mary also acknowledged the toll Robert Jr.’s struggles have taken on his father, saying, “It’s hurtful to see his dad most of the time devastated. But at the same time, I have hope and I believe in him. I know that his ability— I raised him, so I know he’s got all the tools. He just needs to make up his mind.”
This isn’t the first time Robert Jr. has been in legal trouble. Back in 2022, he was arrested for a DUI after police said he was driving without a license and disobeyed traffic laws. He later accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to the DUI while the other charges were dropped.
For Mary, who has been a lightning rod of drama on RHOSLC, the situation is far from the glamorous life fans see on TV. Instead, it’s a deeply personal battle that has spilled into the public eye.
While she remains hopeful for her son’s recovery and future, Robert Jr.’s latest arrest underscores the ongoing challenges her family is navigating.
