Mariah Carey, who is often called the Queen of Christmas, showed her fans a funny moment while wrapping Christmas gifts. On December 19, she posted a video on Instagram where she tried to wrap a present in her own special wrapping paper.
Mariah, 55, sat by her big Christmas tree and started wrapping a pair of fluffy white earmuffs that had her initials on them. She joked, “This is really, really not my thing. I don’t want to be the one doing this.” Even though she said she didn’t think she was “too good” to wrap gifts, she admitted it wasn’t something she’s very good at.
In the video, Mariah tried to cut the wrapping paper with a large pair of scissors but struggled, saying, “The scissors are huge. Who is doing this to me?” Later, when she used tape to stick the paper together, it got stuck to her nails. She laughed and said her messy wrapping looked like a piece of candy.
At one point, Mariah tried to find a ready-made bow for the gift, but when she couldn’t, she joked about giving up. She ended the video with a caption that said, “Wrapping gifts is NOT as easy as it looks!! What gifts are you wrapping this year?? 🎁🎄”
Mariah’s video came right after she finished her Christmas Time tour on December 17. The last concert took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Fans loved her mix of Christmas songs, and she ended the night with her most famous holiday hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
Even though Mariah is an expert at singing Christmas songs, her fans now know that wrapping gifts might not be one of her talents—and that’s okay!
