Lil Nas X Entering Treatment After Arrest and Felony Charges, Attorney Confirms
Lil Nas X is focusing on his health following a troubling incident last month.
The rapper, born Montero Hill, was arrested in August after being found nearly nude and disoriented on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City. Police initially rushed him to a hospital for what they suspected might have been an overdose before he spent the weekend in jail. He was later hit with four felony charges, including battery and resisting a law enforcement officer, and pleaded not guilty.
Now, his legal team says the 25-year-old star is in treatment. Speaking to reporters outside a Los Angeles courthouse on Monday, Lil Nas X’s attorney Drew Findling shared, “We’re doing what is best for Montero from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly for his well-being.”
Findling emphasized that the Grammy winner is surrounded by loved ones and a supportive team. “He’s had a great life, he’ll continue to have a great life. This is a bump that he’s gonna get over,” he added.

While his lawyers didn’t reveal specifics about the treatment, Judge Shellie Samuels of Los Angeles County Superior Court has allowed the musician to remain out of state as long as he continues his inpatient care.
Lil Nas X, who was released from jail last month after posting $75,000 bail, reassured fans in a candid Instagram Story shortly after. “Your girl is gonna be OK,” he wrote. “That was terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days, but your girl is going to be alright.”
The “Old Town Road” hitmaker is set to return to court on Nov. 18.
For now, his team says the priority is making sure he gets the help he needs, both personally and professionally.
