Kodak Black slams YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s upcoming album MASA as “trash,” reigniting their ongoing feud just weeks before its official release.

Kodak Black didn’t mince words when he reacted to YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s latest offering over the weekend, bluntly declaring the six-track preview of YoungBoy’s forthcoming album Make America Slime Again (MASA) to be “straight trash.”
Although Kodak prefaced his critique by insisting he generally enjoys YoungBoy’s music, he was clearly unimpressed this time around: “I just heard little bro’s album — it’s straight trash.
I don’t even like that,” he Said on social media, later adding that some “behind-the-scenes stuff” might have colored his opinion.
YoungBoy had originally planned to drop the full MASA project on July 4 but instead opted to release just six tracks as an appetizer, postponing the entire 30-song album until later this month.
As of now, ten of the project’s tracks are available on streaming platforms, keeping fans eager for the July 25 release date that YoungBoy officially announced after a three-week delay.
Kodak suggested that these preview drops were more about getting his attention than providing a true introduction to the album’s sound.
This public dissing reignites a long-standing back-and-forth between the two Southern rap stars.
Their relationship has seen peaks and valleys: at one point they bonded over a shared love of gumbo in early 2023, but they’ve also traded personal barbs, especially after YoungBoy dated Kodak’s ex-girlfriend.
That chapter famously inspired YoungBoy’s “Letter 2 Kodak” diss track, which only deepened the rift between them.
Outside of this latest exchange, Kodak Black has kept a relatively low profile in 2025 when it comes to album releases.
He hasn’t dropped a solo project yet this year, though he did team up with former NFL star Antonio “AB” Brown for the single “I LUV ALL THE OPPS” in late May.
With MASA’s full release now on the horizon, all eyes will be on YoungBoy to see how he addresses Kodak’s harsh critique—whether he dismisses it, leans into the beef for promotional buzz, or responds directly in his music.
Either way, the simmering tension between these two will likely add extra heat to the lead-up to MASA’s launch.
