Katy Perry testifies in court over her $15M Montecito mansion, saying she wants “justice” as she seeks $6M in damages.

Katy Perry is standing firm in her long-running legal fight over the $15 million Montecito mansion she and fiancé Orlando Bloom purchased in 2020.
The pop star, 40, appeared in Los Angeles court via Zoom on Aug. 26, where she was questioned about the controversial purchase from entrepreneur Carl Westcott, founder of 1-800-Flowers.
Westcott, now in his 80s and battling Huntington’s Disease, claimed he lacked the mental capacity to sign the deal and has been fighting to rescind the contract for years.
Perry already prevailed in an earlier trial, with a judge ruling there was no persuasive evidence that Westcott didn’t understand the transaction. She officially gained ownership of the sprawling 9,285-square-foot property in May 2024 through her LLC, DDoveB.
Now, the case has shifted to damages. Perry is seeking more than $5 million, including $3 million in alleged lost rental income. When pressed in court by Westcott’s lawyer about her motives, she replied simply: “Justice.”
She later acknowledged she does have a financial stake, noting potential losses in rental income, legal fees, and property expenses.
The lavish estate — featuring eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, an infinity pool, guesthouse, and sweeping ocean views — was originally meant to be a family home for Perry, Bloom, and their daughter, Daisy, 5.
The couple began renting it out earlier this year, though it remains unclear if they ever lived there themselves.
Perry and Bloom, who got engaged in 2019 and welcomed Daisy in 2020, reportedly ended their engagement in June 2025.
