Justin Timberlake is ready to move forward after dealing with some legal trouble this summer. The 43-year-old singer was arrested in June for driving while intoxicated (DWI) in Sag Harbor, New York. Now, he has decided to accept a plea deal, which means he will plead guilty to a lesser charge so he can put this behind him and focus on his family and work.

A source close to Timberlake said, “He wants to move on because his family is the most important thing to him.” Timberlake is married to actress Jessica Biel, and they have two sons, Silas, who is 9 years old, and Phineas, who is 4. The source also mentioned that the court case has been a distraction, and Timberlake doesn’t want it to affect his family.

Timberlake’s lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., has said that Timberlake wasn’t actually intoxicated when he was arrested. But, Timberlake still chose to accept the plea deal because he didn’t want the case to drag on. In August, his driver’s license was suspended for a year in New York, which is something his lawyer said is standard in these types of cases.

Jessica Biel, Timberlake’s wife, wasn’t happy about the situation, but she supported him in taking the deal so they could move forward. The source explained, “Jess wants him to accept the plea deal and move on.”

In addition to his family, Timberlake is busy with his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, where he’s performing across the country. His next concert is scheduled for Sept. 28 in Newark, New Jersey, and the tour will continue until June 2025. The source said that his tour is a big focus for him as well, and he just wants to get back to his regular life.

At a concert in Chicago in June, shortly after his arrest, Timberlake told his fans that it had been a “tough week,” but he appreciated their support. He said, “I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but you keep on loving me, and I love you right back,” which made the crowd cheer.

Even though the arrest was a difficult situation, Timberlake and Biel have already moved past it and are focusing on their careers. Biel is working on her new TV show, The Better Sister, while Timberlake is busy with his tour.

Timberlake has a court hearing coming up on Friday, Sept. 13, but by accepting the plea deal, he hopes to close this chapter and focus on his family and work.
