Jason Kelce, a former NFL player and now a TV host, recently shared something surprising—his family doesn’t have a group chat! Even though the Kelce family is very close, Jason revealed in an interview with PEOPLE that they don’t use a group message to stay in touch.
“There isn’t [a group chat]… there probably should be,” Jason said, referring to his parents Donna and Ed Kelce, his brother Travis Kelce (a star player for the Kansas City Chiefs), and his wife Kylie Kelce. He added, “Maybe I’ll get that started.”
2025 is already shaping up to be a big year for Jason. He and Kylie are expecting their fourth daughter, and on January 4, he hosted the first episode of his new TV show, They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce, on ESPN. The show combines football talk, comedy, live music, and celebrity guests. It will have five episodes and will air during the NFL playoffs. ESPN says the show highlights Jason’s “big personality and sense of humor.”
The first episode was filmed in Philadelphia, with Jason’s parents, Donna and Ed, in the audience. Kylie also appeared on the show, and fans loved seeing her on screen. Jason shared that he’s excited about the show and the chance to explore new opportunities outside of football.
“I’ve been so focused on football all season long,” he said. “It’ll be fun to take a break from football for a little bit and spend more time with family.”
Jason also shared his thoughts about New Year’s resolutions. He said he doesn’t usually make them because he doesn’t think they lead to real change. “If you’re waiting for the New Year to make a resolution, it’s probably not something you’re actually going to change,” he explained. However, he does like challenging himself to give something up for a short time. This is something he learned from his wife Kylie, who practices Lent as part of her Catholic faith.
With a new show, a growing family, and maybe even a family group chat, Jason Kelce has a lot to look forward to in 2025. Fans are excited to see what’s next for the football star-turned-TV host!
