Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who plays Sylvie Grateau on Emily in Paris, is excited about her character’s latest development in the show’s fourth season.

The French actress recently spoke with PEOPLE about Sylvie’s significant storyline, revealing her satisfaction with the character finally getting a “revenge moment.”

In the new season, Sylvie takes a bold step by exposing Louis de Leon, the powerful head of luxury fashion conglomerate JVMA, for his inappropriate behavior and workplace sexual harassment. After working with Louis for years, Sylvie collaborates with a French journalist to bring his actions to light, marking a significant victory for her character.

“I was really happy that we were getting into this little revenge moment for Sylvie,” Leroy-Beaulieu shared. She expressed her appreciation for the show’s creator, Darren Star, for addressing such an important issue.

With this chapter behind her, Leroy-Beaulieu hopes Sylvie will continue to evolve. “I’m excited about where Darren is taking Sylvie. He always surprises us,” she said, adding that she looks forward to seeing her character grow even more complex.

The fourth season of Emily in Paris picks up after the chaos of Camille and Gabriel’s wedding, with Emily dealing with her complicated feelings for both men. Meanwhile, Sylvie faces a challenge from her past that could affect her marriage and her PR agency, Agence Grateau. Mindy, on the other hand, prepares for Eurovision with her band, facing financial struggles along the way.

As the season progresses, Emily and Gabriel start collaborating on his restaurant, aiming for a Michelin star. However, their progress is threatened by two secrets that could unravel everything.

The first part of Emily in Paris Season 4 is now streaming on Netflix, with the second part set to release on September 12.
