The new Marvel movie Deadpool & Wolverine is a big hit on Disney+. In its first six days, it was watched 19.4 million times worldwide. This makes it the most-watched live-action movie on Disney+ since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It also set a record on Hulu, another popular streaming service.

Disney counts a “view” by dividing the total watch time by the movie’s length. Deadpool & Wolverine started streaming on Disney+ on November 12. Before that, it had a strong digital release in October. It sold more copies in its first week than other R-rated movies like John Wick: Chapter 4. The movie came out online 68 days after it was in theaters and on DVD 89 days after.

The movie stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. It was directed by Shawn Levy. The film is a mix of action and comedy. It has become very popular and might even get awards like the Golden Globes and Oscars.

At the box office, Deadpool & Wolverine made a lot of money. In the U.S., it earned $636.7 million. Worldwide, it made $1.33 billion. This makes it the second highest-earning movie of 2024, after Disney’s Inside Out 2. Inside Out 2 made $652.9 million in the U.S. and $1.69 billion worldwide.

Some of the movie’s big achievements are:

  • It is the 13th highest-earning movie in U.S. history.
  • It is the 5th highest-earning Marvel movie in the U.S. and 7th worldwide.
  • It had the biggest opening weekend ever for an R-rated movie, beating the first Deadpool movie from 2016.

The film has been liked by many people. It got an “A” grade on CinemaScore and a 95% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

For comparison, Inside Out 2 also did very well on Disney+. It was watched 30.5 million times in its first five days. This makes it the most popular movie premiere on Disney+ this year.
