Police discovered decomposed human remains in a Tesla registered to singer D4vd at a Hollywood tow yard.
The Los Angeles Police Department is looking into a shocking discovery in Hollywood after human remains were found inside a Tesla registered to rising music star D4vd.
According to authorities, the grim find happened Monday afternoon at Hollywood Tow on Mansfield Avenue near La Brea. Employees at the impound lot called police around 12:30 p.m. after noticing a strong odor coming from the car, which had been parked on the rooftop of the facility.
When officers opened the trunk, they discovered decomposed remains. Because of the condition of the body, investigators have not yet been able to determine the person’s gender or identity.
Police say the Tesla, which carried Texas license plates, was originally towed from the Hollywood Hills nearly a week earlier after being reported abandoned. TMZ later confirmed the vehicle is registered to David Anthony Burke, better known by his stage name D4vd, a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from Hempstead, Texas.
The discovery comes as the singer is in the middle of his tour. He is scheduled to perform Tuesday night at the Fillmore Minneapolis in Minnesota. Just hours before the news broke, D4vd took to Instagram to promote his upcoming project, Withered Deluxe: Marcescence, which drops on September 19.
“Every song written exclusively by me on my phone baby, this is a passion project I put together to make sure I didn’t lose the raw emotional weight my music carries and how much it means to u all,” he wrote in the post, thanking his collaborators.
D4vd first broke out in 2022 with his viral track “Romantic Homicide” and later scored another hit with “Here With Me.” Known for blending bedroom pop and alternative R&B, he’s quickly become one of Gen Z’s most talked-about new artists.
As of now, D4vd has not addressed the situation publicly. LAPD’s investigation into the case is ongoing, and details about how the body ended up in the vehicle remain unclear.
