Conan O’Brien shared a story on his podcast about a time when Robin Williams called him after he was fired from The Tonight Show. Conan had taken over the show from Jay Leno in 2009. But after just seven months, he was let go. Conan was feeling down and unsure about his future. He was lying on the floor when his phone rang. It was Robin Williams.

Robin asked how Conan was doing. He told him, “You’re going to be fine, you’re going to be great.” Robin then gave Conan some strange advice. He told him to go to a bike shop in Santa Monica. Robin had arranged for Conan to rent a bike for the day.

When Conan got to the shop, he saw a bike painted with green and shamrocks. It was bright and colorful, and Conan thought it looked silly. But he decided to try it. After riding the bike around Santa Monica, Conan felt better. It helped him clear his mind.

Conan thanked Robin for his kindness. He was surprised that Robin thought of him during such a tough time. Eric Idle, a close friend of Robin, said that this kind of kindness was typical of him. Robin always made an effort to help others feel better. He was not only funny but also very caring.
