EXCLUSIVE NEWS DEADLINE: Christopher Lloyd is set to reprise his role in Universal Pictures and 87North’s upcoming action sequel, Nobody 2.

The announcement comes on the heels of Lloyd’s recent Emmy nomination for his work in the TV series Hacks.

The beloved Back to the Future actor will join Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, and Sharon Stone in the next installment of the franchise.

Timo Tjahjanto will direct the film, working from a screenplay by Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem. Universal has slated the film for a theatrical release on August 15, 2025.

The original Nobody, released in 2021, was a box office hit that centered on Hutch Mansell (Odenkirk), a seemingly ordinary family man who reveals his darker side after a home invasion, leading to a violent clash with a Russian crime boss.

Lloyd portrayed Hutch’s father, a retired FBI agent, and will return in the same role for the sequel.

While plot details for the sequel remain under wraps, the project will reunite original producers Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, along with Bob Odenkirk, Marc Provissiero, and Braden Aftergood.

Universal’s Jay Polidoro and Tony Ducret will oversee the project for the studio.

Lloyd, a seasoned screen and stage actor, has recently earned his fourth Emmy nomination for “Hacks” and is also recognized for his roles in films like The Addams Family.

He won an Emmy in 1992 for his performance in Disney’s Road to Avonlea. Lloyd is represented by Gersh and Jacob Greenspan.
