Christina films The Flip Off without Josh Hall after divorce, show set for 2025 debut.
The popular HGTV series, The Flip Off, is moving forward without Josh Hall, Christina Hall‘s estranged husband, according to multiple sources.
The show, which also stars Christina’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa, is set to debut in 2025 and has resumed filming amidst the recent divorce news.
Josh Hall filed for divorce from Christina on July 15, citing irreconcilable differences. The filing, obtained by PEOPLE, also revealed that Josh is seeking spousal support from Christina.
This turn of events has left fans wondering how the dynamic and structure of the show will change, given that it originally featured both couples competing against each other.
The Flip Off was designed as a competitive series where Christina and Josh Hall would go head-to-head with Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa to find, buy, renovate, and flip houses for the highest profit.
The competition promised major bragging rights to the winning team. With Josh out of the picture, it remains unclear how the show’s format will be adjusted to accommodate the new circumstances.
Christina Hall, who is also known for her work on Christina on the Coast, has continued filming the new series.
On her other show, she often collaborates with designer James Bender, a close friend who assists in her numerous home makeover projects.
Bender and Christina previously teamed up on HGTV’s Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge, showcasing their strong professional relationship.
Promotions for The Flip Off have played up the complex relationships between its stars. In a promotional video posted on Christina’s Instagram in May, Christina and Heather Rae El Moussa humorously highlighted their resemblance by wearing matching outfits and playfully confusing Tarek.
Another clip featured Christina and Heather engaging in a mock argument while singing along to Big Sean’s “I Don’t F— With You.”
Yet another promotional snippet showed Heather carrying Tarek out of their house with the caption, “When your husband tells you we’re filming a show with his ex-wife.”
Christina spoke about the “interesting” relationships between the stars of The Flip Off in an interview with E! News on July 2, prior to the news of her husband’s divorce filing.
She noted the presence of “a lot of big personalities” and “a lot of dynamics,” hinting at the intriguing interactions viewers can expect from the show.
Christina and Tarek El Moussa were married in 2009 and have two children together, Taylor, 13, and Brayden, 8. The couple launched their first HGTV show, Flip or Flop, in 2013, and continued to film the series until 2022 despite their divorce in 2016.
Tarek met Heather Rae El Moussa in 2019, and they married in October 2021. The couple appeared on Season 4 of Selling Sunset and later premiered their own HGTV show, The Flipping El Moussas, in March 2023.
In addition to her marriages to Tarek and Josh Hall, Christina was also previously married to British car expert and TV host Ant Anstead from December 2018 until September 2020. They share a son, Hudson London, who is 4 years old.
Josh and Christina were first linked romantically in July 2021, and PEOPLE confirmed their marriage in April 2022. However, Josh’s recent divorce filing revealed that they had officially tied the knot six months earlier, on October 6, 2021.
Christina’s shows Christina in the Country and Christina on the Coast have both featured Josh, adding another layer of personal and professional overlap to their relationship.
