Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz have officially called off their engagement, with sources revealing that the split is amicable.
According to a source close to the couple, they have come to realize that they are at different stages in their lives.
The two stars met while working together on Kravitz’s directorial debut, Blink Twice, a thriller that hit theaters in August. During the promotional tour for the film, they frequently expressed their affection for one another in interviews, painting a picture of a happy couple.
Despite their public displays of love, PEOPLE reported on October 29 that Tatum and Kravitz’s three-year relationship had ended. The source explained that while Tatum often spends time in Los Angeles for his daughter, Kravitz prefers to stay in New York City.
Tatum, who is 44, shares 11-year-old daughter Everly with his ex-wife, Jenna Dewan. He and Dewan finalized their divorce in September, six years after their separation. Dewan is now engaged to actor Steve Kazee, with whom she has two young children.
Just hours before the news of their split broke, it was reported that Tatum and Kravitz had joined the cast of a new alien invasion movie titled Alpha Gang.
The film will also feature well-known actors like Cate Blanchett, Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun, and Riley Keough. Production insiders have confirmed that despite their breakup, Tatum and Kravitz are excited to continue working together on this project.
A source emphasized that they both have a deep love for filmmaking and creating art. Tatum has expressed admiration for Kravitz’s dedication and passion for her work.
At the Blink Twice premiere in Los Angeles, Tatum praised Kravitz, saying, “To get to create something with someone that you love is probably one of the most gratifying things other than having a kid with somebody.” Kravitz, who was previously married to actor Karl Glusman, also spoke highly of Tatum, saying he supported her throughout the film’s production.
Despite their recent split, it seems both Tatum and Kravitz are committed to their professional relationship and are looking forward to the new opportunities ahead. Another source added that they simply grew apart, noting, “They haven’t been on the same page.”
