HBO has announced that rising young actor Cary Christopher will guest star in its forthcoming DC Comics adaptation Lanterns, set to premiere later this year.

Christopher, best known for his Emmy-nominated turn as Thomas DiMera on NBC/Peacock’s Days of Our Lives, joins a star-studded ensemble that includes Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre and Nathan Fillion.

Lanterns reimagines the iconic Green Lantern mythos as an intergalactic police procedural on Earth. Aaron Pierre stars as John Stewart, a newly minted Lantern rookie, while Kyle Chandler plays veteran Lantern Hal Jordan.

The pair is drawn into a sinister murder mystery in America’s heartland, where cosmic stakes collide with small-town secrets.

Christopher will embody Young Noah, “a polite and charming small-town kid” whose natural athleticism and generous spirit make him a standout in his community. A gifted all-rounder, Noah finds his greatest joy on the football field—an attribute that is expected to play into the mystery-driven narrative of Lanterns.

The eight-episode series is produced by HBO in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios. Showrunner Chris Mundy, along with Damon Lindelof and Tom King, co-wrote and executive-produced all episodes.

James Hawes directed the first two installments and serves as an executive producer, while Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel and Alik Sakharov round out the directing team.

Christopher embarked on his screen career at age three in the Vudu/MGM series Mr. Mom. His portrayal of Thomas DiMera on Days of Our Lives earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2023, making him one of the youngest nominees in the category. This August, he will make his feature-film debut in Warner Bros.’ mystery-horror Weapons, directed by Zach Cregger.

Looking ahead, Christopher is set to expand his television portfolio with a series regular role in Amazon MGM’s faith-based drama It’s Not Like That and a recurring guest spot on MGM+ and Prime Video’s Spider-Noir, led by Nicolas Cage.

His credits also include appearances on Fuller House, American Horror Stories, Station 19, NCIS, The Rookie, 9-1-1 and High Potential.

Represented by Zuri Agency, Evolve Talent Management and Yorn, Levine, Barnes, Christopher continues to build a remarkably diverse résumé—one that now reaches into the DC Universe.
