Britney Spears is starting fresh as she celebrates her 43rd birthday. On December 2, a California court declared her legally single, seven months after her divorce from Sam Asghari was finalized.

Spears and Asghari, who separated in July 2023, had a short marriage of just over a year before things ended. Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The divorce was settled without any major issues, and the couple’s prenuptial agreement was not challenged. A source close to Spears mentioned that she is enjoying her freedom and moving on with her life.

In October, Britney shared a fun post on Instagram where she dressed up in a wedding gown and talked about marrying herself, calling it one of the best things she’s ever done. It was a playful moment that showed her embracing her independence.

Spears has also been spending time with her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Jayden, now 18, recently visited her in Los Angeles, and they enjoyed some quality time together. A source said the time spent with her son has brought her happiness.

On the other hand, Sam Asghari, who is 30, seems to be doing well after the divorce. He told PEOPLE in November that he’s focused on his work and is looking forward to appearing on season 3 of the Peacock series The Traitors.

He also shared that he has no hard feelings toward Britney and appreciates the time they spent together. Asghari emphasized that people grow apart and that he always tries to stay positive and respectful about his past relationships.

Overall, both Britney and Sam seem to be moving forward in their lives, each embracing new chapters and focusing on their personal growth.
