Blake Lively channels Priscilla Presley in a vintage-inspired wedding look for It Ends with Us.
In the upcoming film It Ends with Us, Blake Lively’s brief yet striking wedding look is a nod to a rock and roll legend.
Costume designer Eric Daman reveals that the inspiration behind Lively’s character Lily Bloom’s wedding outfit was none other than Priscilla Presley, wife of Elvis Presley.
Lily and Ryle (Justin Baldoni) tie the knot in a spontaneous decision, with the audience only getting a quick glimpse of their wedding attire. Despite the brevity of the scene, Daman and Lively made sure every detail was meticulously crafted.
“We wanted to capture that one-of-a-kind vintage vibe,” Daman shared with PEOPLE. The design process kicked off when Daman asked Lively for her thoughts on the wedding look, to which she replied simply: “Priscilla.”
Daman leaned heavily into the 1960s aesthetic, drawing inspiration from Priscilla Presley’s iconic wedding style. The final ensemble featured a chic vintage mini dress paired with sheer pearl-beaded gloves from Anthropologie, Lively’s own Louboutin heels, and a combination of two vintage veils.
The finishing touches came from Lively’s personal jewelry collection, including pieces by Lorraine Schwartz.
Lively’s personal touch didn’t stop at her wedding look. She brought several of her own accessories to the set, including jewelry and even pieces from her husband Ryan Reynolds’ closet. Gigi Hadid, Lively’s close friend, also contributed items from her Guest in Residence collection, which were used in various scenes.
Daman praised Lively’s willingness to share her personal items, adding a special touch to Lily Bloom’s character. “It all adds such a personal touch to the character,” he said, expressing his gratitude for Lively’s generosity and impeccable taste.
With these thoughtful details, the costume team ensured that Lively’s character made a lasting impression, even in fleeting moments on screen.
