With just days until the election, Billie Eilish used her platform to encourage her fans to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in a critical swing state.
At her Atlanta concert on Saturday, November 2, Eilish paused her show to share her thoughts on the importance of the upcoming election.
Speaking to her fans at State Farm Arena, Eilish emphasized what’s at stake. “Times are really scary, and a lot is at stake,” she said. “I know that if you’re in this room and you support me, you support women.
I hope that you will vote for Kamala Harris.” Eilish’s message, shared in a video posted on the Democratic Party’s official TikTok, received a positive response from the crowd.
The Grammy-winning singer has previously shown her support for Harris. On National Voter Registration Day in September, Eilish and her brother, Finneas, released a video explaining why they support Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz.
“We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet, and our democracy,” Eilish said. She urged her fans to “vote like your life depends on it because it does.”
Eilish’s plea came at a crucial time, with the election polls showing a tight race. Georgia is one of seven key swing states in this election, where both Harris and former president Donald Trump are campaigning hard.
According to recent polling, Trump leads Harris by just one percentage point in Georgia. However, some analysts, like Nate Cohn from The New York Times, warn that polling might not fully capture the close nature of this race.
