Celebrity chef Anne Burrell shared a touching final Instagram post just five days before her unexpected death on June 17 at age 55.

In the post, Burrell smiled alongside 84-year-old Brooklyn icon Elizabeth Eaton Rosenthal, known as The Green Lady.

She expressed her excitement at spotting Rosenthal in her neighborhood, writing, “I may or may not have followed her down the street for a minute. She is just lovely!!!”

Rosenthal warmly responded, inviting Burrell to visit her garden and pick figs in September. After news of Burrell’s passing, Rosenthal shared a heartfelt tribute, writing, “I just love you… come to my garden and visit with all your beauty and love.”

Burrell was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn apartment and pronounced dead on the scene. Her family described her as a “beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend,” whose warmth touched millions.

She is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton; his son, Javier; her mother, Marlene; her siblings; and their children.

Burrell was known for her appearances on Iron Chef America, Chopped, Worst Cooks in America, and House of Knives, as well as her bestselling cookbooks.
