Anna Faris has revealed her willingness to return to the “Scary Movie” franchise under specific conditions.

The actress, known for her role as the ditzy but well-meaning Cindy Campbell, last appeared in the spoof series in 2006’s “Scary Movie 4.” With Paramount announcing a reboot of the series in April, fans are eager to know if Faris will reprise her iconic role.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Faris candidly discussed what it would take for her to sign on for another installment. “Well, money!” she said with a laugh. However, the actress emphasized that her return hinges on more than just financial incentives.

Faris expressed a strong desire to work again with Regina Hall, who played her character’s best friend Brenda in the series.

“I would love to work with Regina again. I just love her so much,” Faris said. “We would make each other giggle all day long. Regina Hall would be my answer. And money. But mostly all Regina!”

Faris’s enthusiasm for reuniting with Hall highlights the close bond the two actresses share. Their chemistry on-screen translated into a real-life friendship that Faris cherishes.

The duo’s comedic timing and ability to make each other laugh were pivotal in creating the memorable and hilarious moments fans enjoyed in the “Scary Movie” films.

Reflecting on her time with the franchise, Faris described it as a formative experience in her career. “I love that franchise. It was like my bootcamp, my beginnings,” she said.

The actress went on to star in other successful projects, including the sitcom “Mom” and films like “The House Bunny” and “Just Friends.” However, she credits the “Scary Movie” series for teaching her essential comedy skills.

“If there is a high school comparison for my growth experience, those four movies played an important role in my life in terms of teaching me how to use props, teaching me how to fall, how to get hit in the head,” she explained.

Faris also recalled a specific scene where she had to hold Chiclets in her mouth and spit them out with blood at the perfect moment for the camera.

Despite her love for the franchise, Faris and Hall did not appear in 2013’s “Scary Movie 5,” which starred Simon Rex and Ashley Tisdale.

Faris provided some insight into why she didn’t return for that sequel during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” in 2019.

“I didn’t see all of it,” she admitted about the fifth film. “Truthfully, here’s what I think: I don’t know, I always joke that I was too old. … They wanted to, like, revamp the brand, or whatever.”

Hall, 53, has also expressed interest in revisiting their outlandish “Scary Movie” characters decades later. In a 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said, “I would love to see where they are now. I don’t think it’s any place amazing, but I think it’d be fun to see.”

The potential return of Faris and Hall to the “Scary Movie” franchise would undoubtedly excite fans who have followed their comedic journey since the early 2000s.

Their dynamic performances and hilarious antics made the series a cult favorite. With Paramount’s plans for a reboot, the possibility of seeing Cindy and Brenda back on the big screen is more tantalizing than ever.

In the meantime, fans can catch Faris in her latest film, “My Spy: The Eternal City,” now available on Prime Video. The actress continues to showcase her comedic talents, reminding audiences why she became a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.
