Aaron Pierre, the actor who voices Mufasa in Mufasa: The Lion King, became an internet star after his fun dance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. He appeared on the show in December to talk about the movie and took part in a special tradition called the “spirit tunnel.”
In this tradition, people form two lines backstage to cheer for the guest before they walk onto the stage. Aaron Pierre was excited as he danced through the hallway, wearing black pants, a blue T-shirt, and a matching jacket. He moved to the beat of people clapping their hands and chanting “Aaron Pierre, that’s Mufasa,” high-fiving the crew members as he went. His happy dance was so much fun to watch that it quickly became popular online.
People praised his performance in the comments, saying things like, “He understood the assignment!” and “It was so beautiful, as if they had met before. What a humble man!”
Aaron also talked about his special connection to the role of Mufasa in an interview. He explained that Mufasa: The Lion King shows Mufasa’s childhood and his growth from a young cub to a strong lion. This part of the story made him feel a strong connection to the character.
Mufasa: The Lion King is in theaters now and tells the backstory of one of Disney’s most famous characters.
