The rapper made a jaw-dropping — and hilarious — proposition to Mariah Carey after her big Vanguard Award win at the 2025 VMAs.

When it comes to Busta Rhymes, subtlety isn’t really his thing — and his latest VMAs after-party antics prove it.
The rapper, 52, stole the spotlight Sunday night when he grabbed the mic at a rowdy bash following the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards and aimed a very forward joke at none other than Mariah Carey.
According to video obtained by TMZ, “You ain’t got a husband no more, I wanna hump on your leg,” Busta declared to the crowd, sending partygoers into a frenzy. He laughed, repeated the line, and then added, “You ain’t got no husband no more, no fiancés around. Let me hump on your leg, like a nasty dog.”
The NSFW moment was caught on video, though Mariah’s exact response remains unclear. She appeared to point and yell something back at Busta, but the playful rapper was unfazed, still smiling as the room howled with laughter.
Of course, the flirtatious moment came after a huge night for Carey. The 55-year-old superstar received the coveted Vanguard Award in honor of her legendary career and delivered one of the most talked-about performances of the evening.
Fans were treated to a dazzling medley of hits including “Sugar Sweet,” “Fantasy,” and “Obsessed” — complete with her signature whistle notes that brought the house down.
It was a well-deserved celebration of Mimi’s decades-long reign as one of music’s most iconic voices, and Busta wasn’t the only one eager to get her attention.
Either way, Busta managed to keep the energy going long after the VMAs wrapped. And while we don’t know exactly how Mariah felt about the wild proposal, one thing’s for sure — she knows how to keep all eyes (and ears) on her.
