On Monday, Oct. 21, The Voice turned up the excitement as coaches Michael Bublé and Gwen Stefani faced off, using their “steal” buttons to grab talented singers for their teams.

The episode, part of the intense battle rounds, showed both coaches fighting to keep strong performers in the competition.

The first big moment came during a battle between Sloane Simon and Sydney Sterlace, two singers from Gwen Stefani’s team.

The two sang Billie Eilish’s song “Birds of a Feather,” with Stefani having to make the tough call to pick a winner.

She chose Sydney, 15, saying she felt an instinct telling her to go with the younger singer.

However, Sloane Simon, 20, didn’t have to worry for long.

As soon as Stefani made her choice, three other coaches—Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, and guest coach Snoop Dogg—hit their “steal” buttons to try and bring Simon onto their teams.

Michael Bublé, 49, was especially eager, telling Simon that he had been a fan from the beginning.

“I was so upset when I couldn’t get you on my team the first time,” Bublé said. “This morning, I even told Gwen I thought you might win the whole show.”

He praised Simon’s “angelic” voice and convinced her to join his team.

Later in the episode, Gwen Stefani got her revenge by stealing a contestant from Bublé. Mor Ilderton, 20, had just performed “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls in a battle with Kiara Vega, 18, from Bublé’s team.

Bublé admitted he had a hard time deciding who to keep and said he changed his mind “like four times” before choosing Vega to move forward.

“I picked Kiara because I think she has the potential to bring something new to the music industry,” Bublé said.

“She has a voice that stands out and doesn’t sound like anyone else.”

Even though Bublé decided to move forward with Vega, he didn’t want to completely lose touch with Ilderton.

Before the results were announced, he wrote down his phone number and handed it to Ilderton as a sign of support.

But Stefani saw her chance and quickly hit her “steal” button, bringing Ilderton onto her team.

“I just got this feeling that I know what to do with his voice,” Stefani said. She described Ilderton’s voice as “unique” and “raspy,” saying it sounded like what’s popular in music today.

With the battle rounds in full swing, both Bublé and Stefani showed they were willing to do whatever it takes to keep talented singers on their teams.

The competition is getting tougher as the coaches make their final choices to prepare for the next stage.

The Voice airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, and episodes are available to stream on Peacock the next day.
