Fans of The Walking Dead are in for a long-awaited reunion between two beloved characters, Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier, in the next episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.

AMC revealed a sneak peek of the first 14 minutes during New York Comic Con (NYCC), and it was an emotional moment that did not disappoint those in attendance.

Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) and Melissa McBride (Carol Peletier) are returning to the screen together in a storyline that continues from the first season of Daryl Dixon.

The spin-off focuses on Daryl’s journey after being stranded in France and the personal battles both he and Carol face along the way.

During the panel, the first part of Episode 4 was shown, giving fans an exclusive look at Carol finding Daryl locked up in a French prison.

Though the footage was only shared with those at NYCC, the emotional reunion between the two characters struck a chord with both the actors and the audience.

Reedus spoke about the deep connection between the characters, reflecting on their history together. “The one person in the world that he needs is right there,” he said, getting emotional while discussing the scene. “It’s hard for me to watch it and not tear up a little bit, as corny as that sounds.”

He also reminisced about how their bond has grown over the years, from their early days on the original Walking Dead series. “When we started, it was all about Rick [Grimes]. The show was Rick’s story, and everyone else was part of that journey. But Daryl and Carol always looked out for each other.

They came from similar backgrounds, both survivors of abuse, and they’ve always had each other’s backs. The bond between them is real, and you can feel it in every scene.”

Melissa McBride echoed these sentiments, talking about how natural the chemistry is between her and Reedus on screen. “Norman and I don’t rehearse much,” she said.

“We just come to the set as our characters, knowing where we are in the story, and let things unfold naturally. That’s what I love about working with him. Every scene is full of surprises, and it always feels genuine.”

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol picks up where the first season left off. As Daryl grapples with the decision to remain in France, tensions rise, especially at “The Nest,” a central location in the series. Carol, meanwhile, is determined to track down her old friend and help him through his struggle.

Alongside their personal battles, a larger conflict is brewing. Genet (played by Anne Charrier) is leading a movement known as Pouvoir, which is on a dangerous collision course with another faction called the Union of Hope. This fight for control of France’s future adds a layer of intensity to the show’s plot.

The NYCC panel featured not only Reedus and McBride, but also The Walking Dead universe’s chief content officer, Scott M. Gimple, showrunner David Zabel, and executive producer Greg Nicotero. Reedus and McBride took center stage, sharing their experiences with the show and their thoughts on the upcoming episodes.

Fans of the franchise are excited to see Daryl and Carol back together on screen, especially after all they’ve been through. The relationship between the two characters has been a cornerstone of the series, and their bond is as strong as ever.

With the new episode airing soon, viewers are eager to see how their reunion will shape the rest of the season.

The next episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol airs Sunday on AMC, promising to deliver more action, emotional moments, and a glimpse into the future of the Walking Dead universe.
