Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ lawyers have filed a motion requesting that the identities of the anonymous individuals accusing him of sexual misconduct be disclosed. The motion, submitted to a Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, argues that revealing the names is essential for Combs to adequately prepare for his trial, set for May 5, 2025.

Combs’ legal team, including attorneys Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, emphasized that the number of accusations is tied to his public status. “This case is unique due to Mr. Combs’ celebrity, wealth, and the publicity of his previous lawsuit and grand jury leaks,” the letter reads. His lawyers claim these factors have triggered numerous false or exaggerated allegations.

The latest motion comes just a day after six new sexual assault lawsuits were filed by unidentified accusers. According to Combs’ lawyers, a press conference was held by the plaintiffs’ legal representatives, who claimed to represent 120 accusers. During the event, they shared “outrageous” allegations, including accusations of violent sexual assault and the abuse of minors.

Combs’ legal team called the press conference a “publicity stunt,” noting that the plaintiffs’ lawyer shared a hotline number for potential victims. The number reportedly received 12,000 calls in its first 24 hours.

Combs’ attorneys argued that these public allegations, along with more than a dozen previous lawsuits, are damaging the music mogul’s reputation. They pointed out that some of these claims have already been discredited, though not before causing what they describe as “irreparable harm” to Combs’ public image.

The lawyers warned that the growing wave of accusations and media attention could jeopardize Combs’ chance for a fair trial. “If left unchecked, this media circus will make it impossible for Mr. Combs to receive a just trial, assuming the damage hasn’t already been done,” the motion concludes.

The court has not yet responded to the request for the accusers’ identities.
