It’s official: Ready or Not 2 is on the way! Radio Silence, the filmmaking duo behind the first movie, made the announcement at a special screening celebrating their 2019 hit Ready or Not.

The first film introduced Samara Weaving as Grace, a newlywed who finds herself in a deadly game on her wedding night. She must survive the night against her husband’s wealthy, eccentric family, who are determined to hunt her down as part of a strange tradition.

Made on a small budget of $6 million, Ready or Not became a surprise hit, earning $28.7 million in the U.S. and $57.6 million worldwide.

In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Samara Weaving confirmed she’s ready to return for the sequel. “I’m all in,” she said enthusiastically. “I think we’re all in… We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together.”

Radio Silence, the team made up of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, will direct the sequel. They’ve been busy since Ready or Not became a hit, working on new movies like Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023). Most recently, they directed Abigail, a vampire comedy for Universal.

Searchlight Pictures, the studio behind the film, hasn’t shared any details about the story or a release date yet. However, production executives Richard Ruiz and Cornelia Burleigh will be supervising the project, with producers Tripp Vinson, Bradley J. Fischer, William Sherak, and James Vanderbilt leading the team.

Fans are excited to see what the sequel has in store, especially since the original became so popular. Ready or Not was known for its mix of horror and humor, along with Weaving’s standout performance as a bride who refuses to go down without a fight.

Searchlight Pictures is also celebrating its 30th anniversary with special screenings of some of its popular movies, including Ready or Not.

With the same creative team and Weaving back on board, Ready or Not 2 is shaping up to be another wild ride. More details about filming and the release date will be announced soon.
