Justin Timberlake Postpones Newark Concert Due to Injury, Promises to Reschedule

Justin Timberlake left fans in Newark disappointed after canceling his planned performance at the Prudential Center just hours before the show. The singer, currently on his “Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” cited an injury that forced him to postpone the concert, but promised fans he would make it up to them.

In a post on Instagram, Timberlake apologized for the last-minute change and shared his frustration. “I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show,” he wrote. “I have an injury that is preventing me from performing. I’m so disappointed to not see you all—but I’m working to reschedule ASAP.”

The “SexyBack” singer, who has been on the road since earlier this year, reassured his fans that the concert would eventually happen and expressed his gratitude for their understanding. “I promise to make it up to you and give you the show y’all deserve,” he added. “Thank you guys for understanding. Appreciate your support always.”

As of now, Timberlake’s team hasn’t provided any further details about the injury or how it may affect the rest of his tour, which still has 60 scheduled dates across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, South America, and Europe. The tour is expected to conclude with a performance at Paris’s Lollapalooza festival in July 2025.

This is just the latest bump in the road for Timberlake’s “Forget Tomorrow” tour. Back in June, the singer made headlines after being arrested for a DWI charge. According to reports, Timberlake was pulled over in Sag Harbor, New York, where he was charged with driving while intoxicated. When the officer failed to recognize him, Timberlake reportedly told the officer, “This is going to ruin the tour,” to which the officer replied, “What tour?”

Timberlake addressed the incident for the first time in late June during a concert in Chicago. On stage, he acknowledged the difficult situation but thanked fans for their continued support. “We’ve been together through ups and downs, lefts and rights… It’s been a tough week, but you’re here, and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now,” he told the crowd.

The DWI case has been ongoing. Timberlake initially pleaded “not guilty” to the charge, but his license was suspended in August after the judge rejected his lawyer’s claims that the arrest was mishandled. Edward Burke Jr., Timberlake’s attorney, suggested that the police made errors in the case, but the judge pushed back on this assertion.

“It comes off as an attempt to poison the case before it even begins,” Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace said. The judge warned that if Burke continued down this path, Timberlake might be required to appear in court in person, which could lead to further delays in his tour.

Despite the legal issues and now an undisclosed injury, Timberlake seems determined to continue performing for his fans. While his Newark show was postponed, there’s hope that he’ll be back on stage soon if his recovery goes as planned.

Fans who had tickets to the Prudential Center show will be waiting for further updates on when the concert will be rescheduled. In the meantime, Timberlake will need to focus on his health to ensure he can keep up with the demanding schedule of the “Forget Tomorrow World Tour.”

As Timberlake himself said on social media, “I’m working to reschedule ASAP”—and fans will no doubt be eager for him to make good on that promise.
