Cat Kreidich, who has served as president of Warner Music Group’s independent distribution arm ADA for the past four years, is stepping down, the company announced Tuesday.

During her tenure, Kreidich refocused ADA on artist and label partnerships, spearheading marquee deals with labels Three Six Zero and Rostrum, and signing high-profile artists such as Paris Hilton, Banks, Kesha and Flume. She also led the company’s global expansion, forging alliances with Sua Musica in Brazil, Qanawat and Rotana in the Middle East, and Africori in Africa, while deliberately cultivating a predominantly female leadership team.

In a letter to ADA staff, Kreidich reflected on her “two chapters” with the company: her early career joining during the rise of digital music in the 2000s, and her return in 2021 from senior roles at The Orchard and Sony Music.

“After four transformative years proving that Warner Music Group and ADA can truly be the best home for independent artists and labels, I have made the decision to leave the company,” she wrote. She highlighted key achievements, including revitalizing ADA’s brand identity, building a global release platform for independents, and completing the strategic acquisition of RSDL, which she noted would benefit Warner’s entire recorded music business.

Kreidich’s previous career stops include senior vice president at Sony Music’s catalog division and the Orchard, along with roles at Ultra Records, EMI Music and Warner’s marketing division.

In 2023, she was recognized at Variety’s Power of Women New York celebration for her work championing female leadership in music.

Warner Music Group CEO Robert Kyncl also addressed staff, praising Kreidich as “a class act” whose “bold thinking and decisive leadership” strengthened ADA’s technology, team and global reach. He assured employees and independent partners that WMG is committed to continuing ADA’s growth and would announce new leadership later this week.

In her farewell, Kreidich thanked the artists and labels that “keep the heart of this industry beating,” commending their passion and creativity. Although she did not reveal her next move, she promised to share future plans when appropriate, emphasizing her ongoing dedication to the independent music community.

As ADA prepares for its next chapter, industry observers will be watching closely to see who steps in to guide one of music’s most influential indie distribution platforms.
