Tyler, the Creator has confirmed that his highly anticipated ninth studio album, Don’t Tap the Glass, will arrive this Monday, July 21.

The announcement comes after a week of cryptic teases on social media and culminated in a surprise merchandise drop: on Friday evening, his Golf Wang online store went live with vinyl pressings, T-shirts and hats emblazoned with the new album’s title, leaving little doubt that new music was imminent.

“Don’t Tap the Glass” marks Tyler’s follow-up to Chromakopia, which itself was unveiled with minimal fanfare just two weeks before its October 2024 release.

That project earned widespread acclaim for its adventurous production and high-profile features––including Doechii, Childish Gambino, GloRilla and Lil Wayne––and was backed by a world tour that saw Lil Yachty and Paris Texas join Tyler onstage across North America and Europe.

The first full single from Chromakopia, “Noid,” premiered alongside a vivid music video starring actress Ayo Edebiri as an overzealous fan. The clip’s blend of humor and surreal visuals underscored Tyler’s penchant for genre-bending creativity and set the tone for the album’s broader thematic scope.

Tyler is currently in the midst of his Chromakopia Tour, wrapping up a four-night run at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center this Friday.

He’ll then continue through key North American markets before embarking on an extensive international leg: Australia, Japan, South Korea and Thailand are all on the itinerary, with the tour’s final two dates slated for Manila’s Araneta Coliseum on September 20 and 21.

Meanwhile, Tyler has kept busy outside his own releases. He recently appeared on Virginia duo Clipse’s comeback album, Let God Sort Em Out, lending his vocals to the track “P.O.V.” During a recent sold-out date, Tyler paid homage to Clipse by pulling a vinyl copy of their debut album onstage, highlighting his deep respect for hip-hop’s pioneering acts.

With “Don’t Tap the Glass” poised to drop on July 21, fans can expect another bold chapter in Tyler’s ever-evolving artistry—one that continues to defy expectations and expand the boundaries of contemporary rap and production.
