Hollywood icons and longtime friends, George Clooney and Brad Pitt, are back on the big screen together in the new thriller ‘Wolfs,’ which premiered at the Venice Film Festival on September 1.

Clooney, 63, and Pitt, 60, have a storied history of collaboration, sharing the screen in the beloved Ocean’s Eleven series, Burn After Reading, and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Their latest project, Wolfs, has the duo portraying lone fixers assigned to the same job, a setup that promises both tension and chemistry.

During the Wolfs premiere, Clooney playfully poked fun at their partnership, joking to PEOPLE, “There’s nothing good about it. It’s all a disaster,” while signing autographs. But on a more sincere note, he added, “It’s fun to work with people you know really well.”

Both stars attended the premiere with their significant others—Amal Clooney and Pitt’s girlfriend, Ines de Ramon—highlighting their personal and professional closeness.

In response to a recent New York Times article suggesting Clooney and Pitt earned over $35 million each for their roles in Wolfs, Clooney addressed the speculation. “It was an interesting article, but the figures are vastly inflated,” he stated. “I only bring it up because it’s harmful to the industry if those numbers are seen as the norm. It could make it impossible to finance films.”

A Bond That Stands the Test of Time

Both actors have spoken candidly about their enduring friendship. In a recent GQ interview, Clooney emphasized the importance of checking in on each other. “We’ve been friends for a long time. It’s crucial to make sure everybody’s okay, especially when life gets complicated.”

Pitt echoed this sentiment, praising Clooney’s foresight and support. “I often call George when things get tough. He’s probably the best at understanding situations and seeing all the potential outcomes.”

A source close to the pair noted their excitement about reuniting for Wolfs. “Brad and George have been friends for decades. They genuinely enjoy working together. Wolfs was a project that piqued both their interests, and they’re thrilled about its release.”

Catch ‘Wolfs’ in theaters on September 20 and streaming on Apple TV+ starting September 27.
