Kelly Ripa has officially been named a Disney Legend, a prestigious recognition for those who have made significant contributions to the company.

The honor was presented to the talk show host on Sunday, August 11, at the D23 event in Anaheim, California.

Ripa, 53, was introduced by her former cohost, Ryan Seacrest, who left “Live with Kelly and Ryan” last year. Seacrest joked with Ripa as he presented the award, creating a sweet moment of reunion.

During her acceptance speech, Ripa playfully poked fun at herself, saying, “I know what you’re thinking. Why her? What has she ever done? She doesn’t even go here.” She added that those questioning her selection sound just like her own family.

She also humorously acknowledged Disney CEO Bob Iger, joking about his seemingly ageless appearance and thanked the Walt Disney Company for both her professional success and personal happiness.

Ripa met her husband, Mark Consuelos, on the set of the Disney-produced show All My Children. She quipped that they “made” their three children “right backstage in the Disney labs.”

Ripa concluded her speech by reminiscing about her first trip to Walt Disney World with her family and expressed her gratitude for the honor.

Along with Ripa, several other notable figures were also named Disney Legends, including Miley Cyrus, Angela Bassett, Harrison Ford, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The title is considered the highest honor that the Walt Disney Company can bestow, recognizing individuals who have left an indelible mark on the company and its legacy.
