Amazon Freevee’s Bosch: Legacy is expanding its core cast for its upcoming third season, promoting Jeremy Glazer and Miles Gaston Villanueva to series regulars, Variety has learned exclusively.

Glazer, who recurred in season two as sharp-witted tech expert Maurice “Mo” Bassi, and Villanueva, who portrays ambitious defense attorney Carl Rogers, will take on larger roles as the Bosch universe deepens its exploration of Los Angeles’ intersecting legal and criminal landscapes. The duo’s promotions come as the hit procedural spinoff continues to build on the legacy of Amazon’s long-running original series Bosch, which starred Titus Welliver and ran for seven seasons.

“Mo and Carl each bring unique dynamics to Harry Bosch’s world—whether it’s through cutting-edge tech or courtroom battles,” said executive producer Eric Overmyer in a statement to Variety. “As their paths increasingly collide with Harry, Maddie, and Honey, season three will reveal new layers to both characters—and the actors behind them.”

Glazer’s Maurice “Mo” Bassi, a resourceful hacker with ties to Welliver’s titular detective, has become integral to the show’s high-stakes investigations, blending dry humor with technical prowess. Villanueva’s Carl Rogers, meanwhile, represents a new generation of legal strategists, often clashing—and occasionally aligning—with Mimi Rogers’ powerhouse attorney Honey Chandler.

The promotions underscore Freevee’s commitment to the Bosch franchise as a tentpole for its ad-supported platform. Since its 2022 debut, Bosch: Legacy has consistently ranked among Freevee’s top-performing originals, with its sophomore season further exploring the fraught relationship between Harry Bosch and daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz), now an LAPD rookie.

Glazer, whose credits include Starz’s Hightown and Paramount+’s The Terminal List, and Villanueva, known for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Law & Order: Organized Crime, join a cast led by Welliver, whose Harry Bosch remains a linchpin of the expanding franchise.

Production on season three is expected to begin later this year, though Freevee has yet to announce a premiere date. The second season, which debuted in October 2023, is currently streaming in full on the platform.

As Amazon Studios continues to prioritize franchises with built-in audiences—including its Jack Ryan and Reacher series—Bosch: Legacy stands out as a bridge between the streamer’s legacy titles and its ad-supported future. With Welliver’s Bosch now a part-time private investigator and part-time fixer, season three is poised to further intertwine his gritty pursuits with the city’s power players—both in and out of the courtroom.

Bosch: Legacy is produced by Fabel Entertainment, with Overmyer, Michael Connelly, Welliver, Henrik Bastin, and Pieter Jan Brugge serving as executive producers.
